Harris County School District proudly recognizes Mrs. Andrea Jules as a recipient of the 2026 Teacher Hero Award presented by Brent Coleman, owner of GET (Grace Ed Technologies).
Mrs. Jules was honored for her extraordinary perseverance, dedication to education, and lasting impact on students and colleagues throughout the district.
After graduating, Mrs. Jules initially planned to begin her teaching career while raising a family. Those plans changed when her mother suffered a major stroke and her stepfather later experienced a disabling fall. With two young children under the age of five, Mrs. Jules became the primary caregiver for her family.
For 19 years, she devoted herself to caring for her loved ones while working various part-time jobs to support her household. After relocating to Georgia, she continued balancing caregiving responsibilities and work before joining the Harris County School District as a bus driver.
Although her responsibilities were significant, Mrs. Jules’ passion for education never faded. Encouraged by colleagues, she later began substitute teaching at the EOC, where her ability to connect with students and foster their growth quickly became evident.
Nearly two decades after first pursuing her degree, Mrs. Jules returned to complete her path toward becoming a certified educator. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she faced challenges obtaining necessary documentation from her college in New York, but remained determined and successfully completed all certification requirements.
Today, Mrs. Jules is recognized as a dedicated educator who builds strong relationships with students, helps them overcome barriers to success, and creates an environment where students can grow with confidence.
“Her journey is a powerful example of resilience, commitment, and purpose,” said Dr. Justin Finney, Superintendent of Harris County School District.
The award was presented by Brent Coleman, owner of GET (Grace Ed Technologies), during a special recognition ceremony attended by district leaders, colleagues, and staff members.
Harris County School District congratulates Mrs. Jules on this well-deserved honor and thanks her for the positive difference she makes in the lives of students every day.
