Park Elementary had a special moment thanks to the kindness of our community! A big thank you to local Goldfish distributor Brandon Collins for donating Goldfish for our students to share around the school.
Our adaptive students took the lead delivering the snacks, using the opportunity to practice social skills, meet new people, and build confidence as they connected with staff and students throughout the building.
We’re so proud of the way they represented our school—spreading smiles, starting conversations, and making it a fun experience for everyone involved!

Harris County School District has updated the 2026–2027 academic calendar.
To better align with Muscogee County School District and support the convenience of our families and staff, Spring Break has been moved to April 5–9, 2027.
The change was approved by the Board of Education after stakeholder feedback showed strong support for aligning the schedules.
Please refer to the updated district calendar for details.

Please enjoy your time off and stay safe. Classes will resume on Monday, April 6.

Park Elementary’s adaptive students in Pre-K through 4th grade recently took part in a countywide Adaptive Field Day at the local high school. The event brought students from across the district together for a day all about inclusion, movement, and fun.
The day included a variety of engaging stations designed for students of all ability levels, giving everyone a chance to stay active, work together, and build new skills in a supportive environment. Students also enjoyed connecting with peers from other schools while celebrating their accomplishments.
“We are so thankful to Emily Banks and the district for providing a meaningful opportunity for our students to participate in an event that celebrates inclusion, joy, and activities thoughtfully designed to meet their needs,” said Special Education Department Lead, Lacey Rabon. She continued by adding, “This is a great opportunity for our kids to thrive and feel celebrated.”
Park Elementary is so proud of its students for their excitement and participation and is grateful to the staff and organizers who made the day possible.

Park Elementary School celebrated Read Across America and Fine Arts Week with a vibrant mix of reading, creativity, and community connection. The week concluded with a special performance of Olivatown, written by local artist Allen Levi. In a first for these student performers, high school students brought the story to life on stage for the entire school, creating a memorable experience for the audience.
Throughout the week, guest readers from Central Office and the community visited classrooms, sharing stories and helping inspire a love of reading among students. The performance of Olivatown was especially meaningful, as Allen Levi is a familiar and valued presence at Park Elementary, known for the relationships he has built with students over time. By combining literacy, the arts, and community involvement, Park Elementary created a memorable week that highlighted the power of stories to connect and inspire.
