The Harris County School District’s Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) program provides children, four years of age, with foundational skills needed to prepare them for kindergarten. Seats are limited by the state and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
This is a 3-STEP PROCESS designed to ensure that applicants meet the required eligibility for the HCSD Pre-K program prior to Sign-Up Day.
Step One: Application: Get approved to participate in SIGN-UP DAY
ELIGIBILITY: Any child who is a resident of Harris County and four years of age, on or before September 1, 2026, is considered eligible. Pre-K seats are limited to 20 students per class!
WINDOW TO SUBMIT PRE-K APPLICATION:
Open date: February 16, 2026 Close date: March 24, 2026

● Go to the link provided (www.harris.k12.ga.us/roundup) to complete the Pre-K Application. ● Once your application has been reviewed and approved, you will receive an email with a SIGN-UP DAY link for STEP TWO. Check your SPAM/JUNK FOLDER for your email.
● If you NEED HELP with application/technology, OR HAVE NOT received an email within a week after submitting your application, contact THE H.O.P.E. CENTER at 706-628-4206 Ext. 2306.
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE PRE-K APPLICATION: (See HCBOE Policy JBCB for Proof of Residency Guidelines)
1. Proof of child’s age: child's birth certificate
2. Parent Identification: Valid government-issued ID (i.e. Driver’s License)
3. Custody/Guardianship Documents, if Necessary
4. THREE (3) Proofs of residency: Lease/mortgage statement, vehicle registration, utility bill, land-line phone bill, etc. Cell phone bills are not acceptable. (Bills must be within the last 60 days and include name and address matching registration.)
If you do not have required proof(s), you will need to be pre-approved for an Affidavit of Residency.
AFFIDAVIT of RESIDENCY: Contact the H.O.P.E. CENTER at 706-628-4206 ext. 2301 as soon as possible for information regarding pre-approval for an affidavit. Allow up to two weeks for pre-approval. Affidavit must be pre approved PRIOR to submitting Pre-K Application.
APPLICATION APPROVAL DOES NOT MEAN THAT YOUR STUDENT HAS BEEN ACCEPTED INTO THE PRE-K PROGRAM. YOU MUST COMPLETE STEP 2.
Step Two: Pre-K Sign-Up Day! Reserve a SPOT for your Child
SELECTION PROCESS:
● Once your application is approved, you will receive an email with a link for SIGN UP DAY. (Please verify that your email is accurate before submitting your
application.)
● “Sign Up Day” is for APPROVED applicants only. The link will go LIVE onWednesday, April 8, 2026. This link will be time stamped, and spots will be filled in the order they are received on SIGN-UP DAY!

● The District will notify parent/guardian of acceptance or wait-list status by email on or before April 17, 2026. CHECK YOUR SPAM/JUNK FOLDER FOR YOUR EMAIL.
Step Three: Online Registration (OLR): Save your SPOT
Once accepted into the Pre-K program, to secure your child’s Pre-K spot go to https://harris.k12.ga.us to complete your Online Registration (OLR) no later than April 30, 2026.
OLR Instructions for Pre-K students
1. Go to the URL www.harris.k12.ga.us .
2. Click on Online Student Registration (OLR)- Online Registration for New Students 26/27. 3. Complete the OLR as instructed (Be prepared to RELOAD all required documents)
4. For Shot Records/Ga 3300 forms which cannot be completed due to late birthdate, upload a doctor appointment notice in lieu of required records. All records are due by Sept 15, 2026.
WHAT IF I MISSED THE APPLICATION DEADLINE?
LATE Pre-K Registration will open April 20, 2026. The registration link can be found on the district’s website https://harris.k12.ga.us. After registering, you will receive an email with your registration status.
