Employee Assistance Programs (EAP)
Pastoral Institute Counseling Services
Harris County School District partners with The Pastoral Institute and Lifeworks to provide up to eight behavioral health visits at no cost to the employee.
The Pastoral Institute offers the following:
- Three counseling sessions in-person or telehealth for employees and their dependents
Lifeworks is an additional EAP that offers the following:
- Up to five additional sessions for employees and dependents. Authorization is required and can be done through Pastoral Institute or as standalone sessions.

Acentra Health (formerly Kepro)
The Georgia Department of Education, in partnership with Acentra Health, formerly known as Kepro, provides the opportunity for employees to participate in the GaDOE-sponsored Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
Acentra Health offers valuable benefits, for ALL public schools, PreK-12 teachers, and K-12 employees who work at least 29 hours a week. These benefits include:
- Up to four free confidential counseling sessions per issue
- A free 30-minute legal consultation with an experienced attorney
- A free 30-minute financial consultation with a financial professional
- Referrals for care and resources for household members and dependents up to the age of 26
- Assistance finding services for such daily life issues as home repairs, moving, pet care and travel
