Meet Our Superintendent

Welcome to the Harris County School District!

As Superintendent, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Harris County School District’s official webpage. Our district’s mission is “to ensure an excellent education for every child in Harris County.” We are committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where students can develop their full potential, both academically and personally. Through rigorous instruction, innovative programs, and a focus on individual needs, we strive to equip our students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in their future endeavors. Our commitment to a STEAM-focused curriculum throughout our district is proven by the fact that we are the first district in the state in which all elementary schools are STEAM certified. This certification from the Georgia Department of Education requires hands-on, project-based learning to teach problem-solving skills through real-world application.

Our vision is “to be one community committed to the well-being and preparation of every student for life-long success in a global society.” We aim to inspire and empower our students to be lifelong learners and productive citizens. By fostering a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and continuous improvement, we seek to create a district where every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Harris County School District serves the communities of Harris County, Georgia, with a commitment to educational excellence. We pride ourselves on our dedicated staff, engaged families, and supportive community. Our district comprises seven schools: Harris County High School, which includes a Science and Technology Center; Harris County Carver Middle School; Creekside Intermediate School; Mulberry Creek Elementary; New Mountain Hill Elementary; Park Elementary; and Pine Ridge Elementary. Each of our schools boasts a safe, positive, and inclusive school culture in which our students and staff thrive.

In addition to academics, our district includes a strong focus on the arts and athletics, with accomplishments in all areas, and expansions that contribute to our students' continuing to earn regional, state, and even national recognition in academics, the arts, and athletics.
