Online Student Registration

ATTENTION: Online registration will open for the 2025-26 school year on Monday, April 14, 2025. OLR links for the 25-26 school year will not be active until this date.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: HCBOE Policy JBCB for Proof of Residency Guidelines has been updated.  Please click the link to read the complete policy. Two important changes to know prior to completing OLR: 

1. HCSD will no longer accept a voter’s registration document as a proof of residency.
2. Parent/Guardian's address listed on their driver’s license must match the address on their additional documentation for Harris County proofs of residency.  

Note: If you are trying to register your child for Pre-K for the 25-26 school year, and have not completed a Pre-K application, please make sure you complete THIS FORM first! 

The Harris County School District is proud to announce Online Registration/residency verification for Harris County families, for the 2025-26 school year. On Monday, April 14, 2025, the Harris County School District (HCSD) will begin Online Registration (OLR)/Residency Verification for Harris County families for the 2025-26 school year. 

Deadlines for Registration and Verification:

  1. Upcoming Kindergarten students: Wednesday, April 30, 2025
     

  2.  Pre-K students with CONFIRMED assignments only: Wednesday, April 30, 2025 
    (Though incoming Pre-K parents have already completed initial Pre-K registration, they are also REQUIRED to complete registration through OLR once they have a confirmed Pre-K assignment. Pre-K parents, please refer to your acceptance letter for OLR instructions.)
     

  3. Upcoming/Rising students in grades 1 through 12Friday, May 30, 2025.

All students must be verified through OLR before class and/or teacher assignments can be made for the 2025-26 school year. 

To complete online registration, please have the following documents ready to upload:

  1. THREE proofs of Harris County residency dated within 60 days (power bill, water bill, gas bill, landline phone bill, Harris County car registration, mortgage/rental agreement at Harris County address, etc.). Cell phone bills are not accepted. 
    Note: One proof must be Parent's photo ID

  2. Student's birth certificate (new students only)

  3. Student's social security card (new students only)

  4. Georgia Student Immunization Form 3231 (completed for new students only)

  5. Georgia Student Dental, Hearing, Vision Form 3300 (completed for new students only)

Through this online process, parents can easily and conveniently update the information of existing students, register new students, and verify residency.

Current HCSD families will access the online registration/verification through their existing Parent Portal account by entering the traditional way or by visiting www.harris.k12.ga.us/OLR and clicking the menu to the left titled, "Existing Student Registration." Once logged into the portal, select the option for "MORE," then select "HC ONLINE REGISTRATION." Please read all instructions on each page. Be sure to select - Annual Residency Verification 25/26.

Families new to the HCSD will access the online registration at www.harris.k12.ga.us/OLR and click the menu to the left titled, "New Student Registration." Please read all instructions on the web page. Be sure to select - Online Registration for New Students 25/26.

Anyone using a residency affidavit to attend Harris County Schools may register/verify online according to the instructions above; however, all residency affidavit online registrations will be placed on hold until a new residency affidavit for the 2025-26 school year is approved in-person with the Harris County School District's Social Services Department.
