    HARRIS COUNTY MIDDLE SCHOOL TEACHER NAMED A 2021 GEORGIA YOUTH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CENTER STEM SCHOLAR (click here for full article)

    HAMILTON, GA (MARCH 18, 2021) – Harris County Carver Middle School (HCCMS) teacher, Kimberly Acosta, has been named a 2021 STEM Scholar by the Georgia Youth Science & Technology Center (GYSTC).

    Acosta, who has served the Harris County School District (HCSD) as a mathematics instructor and currently serves as the HCCMS technology teacher, is among a group of 23 talented Georgia teachers recognized for their innovative classroom activities that result in critical science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) instruction for elementary and middle school students. STEM scholars are selected for their overall dedication to teaching that promote STEM in their schools and communities.

    HAMILTON, GA (NOVEMBER 10, 2020) – Two Harris County School District (HCSD) art teachers have been recognized for their work at the annual conference of the Georgia Art Education Association (GAEA), which took place virtually Saturday, Nov. 7, 2020. An affiliate of the National Art Education Association, GAEA is a professional organization of art educators, whose mission is to advocate for the highest quality visual arts education and to provide for the advancement of knowledge through service, leadership, and research.
