  • HOMESCHOOL PROCEDURES

    HOUSE BILLS 39 AND 706, PASSED THE 2012 LEGISLATIVE SESSION AND SIGNED BY THE GOVERNOR, HAS MOVED THE RESPONSIBILITY OF HOMESCHOOL REPORTING FROM THE LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT TO THE GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION BEGNINNING JULY 1, 2012.

    PARENTS/GUARDIANS ARE STRONLY ENCOURAGED TO USE THE WEB-BASED SYSTEM TO SUBMIT HOMESCHOOL DOCUMENTS TO INCLUDE THE DECLARATION OF INTENT AND THE MONTHLY ATTENDNCE RECORDS. DOING SO SAVES TIME AND RESOURCES FOR BOTH THE PARENTS/GUARDIANS AND GaDOE.  PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THE GaDOE WEB-BASED SYSTEM IS NOT AFFILITIATED WITH ANY VENDOR OFFERING SERVICES TO HOMESCHOOL PARENTS/GUARDIANS.

    FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS WHO DO NOT WISH TO UTILIZE THE WEB-BASED SYSTEM, THE GaDOE WILL ALSO PROVIDE FOR THE PAPER SUBMITTAL OF HOMESCHOOL DOCUMENTATION. YOU MAY SUBMIT DOCUMENTATION VIA MAIL OR FAX.     Drivers License

    When your child is ready to obtain his or her driver's license, please take the homeschool confirmation page (received when you registered for homeschooling) to the Department of Motor Vehicles. Attendance certificates are no longer required.
